Swiss Vignette Not Arrived? What to Do Before You Go

Short answer: if you ordered a physical sticker and it has not arrived, the fastest fix is to order an e-vignette, which is valid the moment it is registered. Do not use Swiss motorways until you have a valid vignette.

First, which did you order?

• E-vignette: there is nothing to arrive in the post. It is valid as soon as your plate is registered. With Swiss Vignette we register within 2 business hours of payment, and you receive an email confirmation. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for that confirmation.
• Physical sticker: allow 5-10 working days by post, longer during peak ski and summer periods.

If your physical sticker is running late

If your trip is close and the sticker has not arrived:

1. Order an e-vignette. It is the same price and is valid immediately once registered, so you are covered before you travel.
2. Or buy at the border. Physical stickers are sold at Swiss border crossings, though queues can be significant at busy times.

Whatever you do, do not drive on a Swiss motorway without a valid vignette, the fine is CHF 200 and you still have to buy the vignette.
